Creative writing workshops responding to our 2025 program theme, “Spiralling”
As part of Darebin's creative writing program, inSITU, we’re running free 2-hour workshops which will be facilitated by an amazing group of writers, leading the charge and sharing their wisdom: Neika Lehman, Manisha Anjali, Jamie Marina Lau and Panda Wong.
Find out more about each workshop here:
Across different forms these workshops all directly relate to the theme for our annual print publication, dSCRIBE. The Workshop Series is an opportunity for you to hone your craft, and work on making your submission for dSCRIBE the best it can be.
The theme in 2025 for both dSCRIBE and the Workshop Series is “Spiralling”.
"Extending from last year’s theme 'desire lines’, 'spiralling' is about lines of rotation, return and radiance. Spiralling as in the dreaded emotional spiral, vertigo, a loop to break out of or move through. Or the ever-present spiralling in nature – how seals sleep in the ocean, the tininess of DNA, the way ants swirl themselves into death spirals, the tips of our fingers. To spiral is to ascend, descend and be in constant motion. It expands, shifts, and opens us up to alternative times, spaces, ways of seeing and feeling." - Panda Wong, dSCRIBE 18 Editor
This venue is fully wheelchair accessible and has all gender bathrooms.
