Darebin Arts Speakeasy Developments

A woman with long dark hair wears a long-sleeves denim jacket and raises her bent left arm towards her forehead.

Darebin Arts Speakeasy supports performing artists from a range of backgrounds and disciplines to create new work and connect through practice.

The Darebin Arts Speakeasy Development Program offers performing artists cash and studio space to develop new work for the stage. Projects are drawn from an annual round of open applications, selected based on the quality and viability of the ideas, and their alignment with Darebin Arts' community goals and values.

Six new projects have been selected for development in 2026 from artistic teams including: Danish Sheikh and Jennifer Sarah Dean (theatre), Joel Te Teira (theatre), Keia Mcgrady (dance), Kerensa Diball and Roman Tucker (theatre/live art), Kitan Petkovski (hybrid) and Rory Godbold (theatre).

Keep up-to-date with all performance and live arts news and artist opportunities by joining our Darebin Performing Arts mailing list or following Darebin Arts Live on Facebook and Instagram.
