Opportunities

Darebin Arts

Darebin Arts offers a range of different opportunities for artists and independent arts companies. These range from the presentation of works, to development opportunities, in-kind support, professional development opportunities, grants, and prizes.

Expressions of interest are opened yearly for our program of visual arts exhibitions and installations presented at our gallery, Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, and for our theatre, dance, circus and live art program presented by Darebin Arts Speakeasy. Outside of performance presentation, Darebin Arts Speakeasy also offers several opportunities for the development of work and residencies to build on community practice.

Prizes administered by Darebin Arts include:

  • The Darebin Art Prize (visual arts, biennial)
  • The Darebin Mayor’s Writing Awards (literary, annual)
  • The Darebin A1 Art Salon Exhibiting Award (visual arts, biennial)

Independent arts projects have also received one-off grants from the Darebin FUSE Fund. We also periodically offer a range of professional development and community practice opportunities for artists including a free writing workshop series; our community exhibition the A1 Darebin Art Salon; and Speakeasy Scratch Nights for performers.
