Artists in Conversation: Taking Back Language

Next date: Saturday, 23 August 2025 | 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM

A group of people view a collection of artworks hung on a wall

Join artists Jenna Lee, Kait James and Peter Waples-Crowe as they discuss Taking Back Language, a new group exhibition that utlilises text in both humourous and powerful ways.

This exhibition showcases a selection of works by acclaimed Aboriginal artists who engage with text to reclaim language. Examining the ways in which words can be used to reveal, challenge and subvert different power structures, this exhibition celebrates the perseverance of culture.

Don't miss this illuminating afternoon of conversation as the artists discuss the use of language within their respective practices and touch on the broader themes of the exhibition.
