Presented by Darebin Arts and Live Music Australia - an Australian Government Initiative

Jess Ribeiro touches down at Darebin Arts Centre, with her enthralling band and string section, for an intimate performance this September. Featuring special guest, Tony Yap.

Jess is a shape-shifting musical enigma, her songs are cinematic in scope: it's music that travels, across deserts like a Western, through city streets like Film Noir. Jess's most recent release Summer of Love traverses isolation, loss, tiny snatches of love, expectation vs reality, once-in-a-century pandemics and healing. Summer of Love captures audiences and builds intimate walls of instrumentation with band members on viola, bass, tape loops and drums, guitar and piano.

"Ribeiro communicates something sublime – a record of our anxious times, with a dash of optimism for a better future. One in which we experience it all, the light and the dark, together." - The Guardian ★★★★

"Summer of Love is both surreal and strikingly direct in equal measure, Ribeiro’s voice so up front in the mix that it’s like a close friend leaning in to tell you the secrets of the universe... swirling like a storm set to break at any moment with Ribeiro fearlessly positioned at the centre." - Rolling Stone ★★★★
