Tessa Waters is a multi-award-winning comedian, writer, director and mentor, with a decade of experience in creating acclaimed comedy, theatre and short films, which have played to sold-out crowds around Australia and the UK. She is currently working as a writer and producer for Double Denim NZ and the Ace Lady Network out of Wellington and has launched the third year of her mentorship program, where she works with young emerging femme, non-binary and queer comedians, theatre and content makers. As Assistant Director: for Garry Starr Conquers Troy; as Producer, Writer and Performer: for Fringe Wives Club: Glittery Clittery: A Consensual Party (winner of Best Cabaret at Adelaide Fringe 2018, Mervyn Stutter Spirit of the Fringe, nominated for Best Newcomer at MICF 2017, and picked by the Herald Sun for the 2018 Hottest 100 in Entertainment); and as Solo Performer: Fully Sik (winner of the Best Comedy Weekly Award at Adelaide Fringe 2017, Spirit of the Fringe Adelaide Fringe 2018 and was filmed as an hour-long special for ABC’s Comedy Next Gen Series 2), Over Promises (nominated for Best International Show at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival 2017), Volcano (nominated for Best Comedy, Perth Fringe World 2018), and WOMANz (winner of the SA Tour Ready Award, WA Tour Ready Award, and Outstanding Comedy Show at the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2014). Tessa has been touted in the Top 5 Hottest New Things in Comedy by the Sydney Morning Herald in 2015, was voted in the Top 10 character shows at Edinburgh Fringe 2014, and has trained in Clown and Theatre at the prestigious Philippe Gaulier School in France.
