All Our Secrets Are the Same is a new sculptural installation by Charlotte Watson. Informed by psychoanalysis and the gothic sublime, All Our Secrets are the Same condenses the space in which relationships are made or lost, and considers how personal histories are transferred between generations.

In referencing the dramatic landscape of Otago, New Zealand, this exhibition draws parallels between the unspoken parts of ourselves and the geographical amphitheatres that lay witness to them. Focussing on memory, time and place, this work explores the idea that the landscape, despite its indifference, is capable of memory – listening and containing stories even if no one is there to hear it.
