Bakers Eddy @ Shotkickers

Presented by Riot House, Handshake Mgmt & Cult Artists as part of Darebin FUSE Festival

Bakers Eddy take their new EP, “I’m Doing Better”, on the road this August in their first headline tour since returning from a successful run of shows in the US earlier this year. Featuring triple j backed singles ‘Manners Street’ and ‘Dust On My Brain’, the new EP is the band at their most exciting and their most honest.

Carving out a niche all their own with a sound that straddles the punk and pop worlds, and a show that veers from chaotic to tender, Bakers Eddy make everyone who comes to their shows feel part of their whanau.

About the Artists

BAKERS EDDY

Led by charismatic Ngati Porou Ngati Tuwharetoa frontman Ciarann Babbington, and rounded out by childhood friends Jamie Gordon (drums) and twin brothers Ian (bass) and Alex Spagnolo (guitar), Bakers Eddy have spent the last 18 months moving between extensive touring schedules, identity-shaping writing sessions, and meaningful conversations.

Self-produced alongside Vincent McIntyre (Fan Girl / Mr Industry / Elizabeth M. Drummond), mixed by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend / The Strokes / Weezer), and mastered by Emily Lazar (Foo Fighters / Coldplay / Sia) their forthcoming EP I’m Doing Better blends elements of alt rock, pop, and 2000s garage, glued together by energetic pop punk-influenced melodies. It is the band’s first body of work since their acclaimed 2022 debut album Love Boredom Bicycles (Ivy League), which they recorded with Oscar Dawson (Vacations / Alex Lahey).

In the wake of Love Boredom Bicycles, Bakers Eddy completed an extensive Australian headline run, and joined the likes of Maggie Lindemann, Stand Atlantic, WAAX, and Grandson on tour. Their compelling and undeniably electric live shows have seen them win over audiences wherever they go, and as a result they have cultivated a dedicated and deeply connected community of fans.
