If you are a talented young person (aged 15 to 25), the Let's Take Over program gives you the opportunity, the budget and the skills to forge a creative career as an artist, producer or programmer – delivered by Darebin Arts Speakeasy.

Successful applicants receive paid industry training over 16 weeks, covering a different topic and skillset with a different expert each week.

Participants will be taught all about developing their ideas, different curatorial approaches, marketing, budgeting, production logistics, access and inclusion, networking and so much more.

These workshops will take place both in person and online. If you don’t have a device or a way of getting online, don’t let this stop you from applying. We’ll be able to help! Contact one of our friendly staff.

In 2023, the Let's Take Over program will result in a multi-artform, participatory festival that can be engaged with in person or online, designed and delivered by the participants of the program.

Applications for the 2023 program will open soon.

Let's Take Over is facilitated by Sarah Austin, Ashleigh Morris, Edwina Green, Cassandra Fumi and Stella Charls.
