The Story Of Bundoora Homestead

A black and white photograph of the Smith family

The Story of Bundoora Homestead chronicles some of the remarkable personal stories behind this significant site.

Through this exhibition, explore the rich history of Bundoora Homestead from its commissioning by the Smith family and subsequent use as a Repatriation Hospital, through to its current use as an art gallery and home of the Darebin Art Collection.

We encourage you to view the display clockwise so that you can read about the history in chronological order. We acknowledge that the Homestead was built on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land, and pay respect to Elders past, present and future.

This project was made possible with support from The Copland Foundation and the Victorian Government.
