Amanda Anastasi is a Melbourne poet and convener of La Mama Poetica at Carlton’s iconic La Mama Theatre. She is the current Poet in Residence at the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub (MCCCRH) where she writes the stories of the climate crisis, and has been a recipient of the Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship and an Assembly for the Future Artist in Residence with The Things We Did Next.

Her poetry has appeared in Australian Poetry Journal, The Massachusetts Review and Griffith Review, as well as being featured in Best Australian Science Writing 2021 and 2022.  Amanda is soon to write about the destruction of one of the great natural wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef, funded by a Neilma Sidney Travel Grant from Writers Victoria. Amanda’s poetry collection is The Inheritors (Black Pepper, 2021).
