Finding Form & Voice Across Creative Disciplines with Jamie Marina Lau

Next date: Saturday, 10 May 2025 | 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

As part of the inSITU Workshop Series

In this workshop, we will explore how different art forms can influence our writing. Studying the patterns and structures that make up the worlds of other art forms, can deepen the experience of building upon the realms of our own writing. By looking to ekphrastic poetry, musical ekphrasis and digital ekphrasis, participants will be exploring what it means to let other mediums and senses influence their practice, and how it can help us to develop a distinct vision and style for each of our individual writing projects.

All participants should bring three or more audio samples/or songs (or a playlist!) and three images to the workshop, along with any writing they’ve been working on.

This venue is fully wheelchair accessible and has all gender bathrooms.

If you would like to come along and require Auslan Interpretation, please send us an email at writingprojects@darebin.vic.gov.au.
