Shane Reynolds: Threads | Megan-Jane Johnstone: As in nature | Lindesay Dresdon and Sheena Mathieson: more of less | Susan Holmes: Pallette Perspective

Presented by Gallery Unbound as part of Darebin FUSE Festival

Step into a show that’s all about connection — to nature, to each other, and to those moments that make us stop and look twice.

Megan-Jane Johnstone’s expressive landscapes capture the raw beauty and fragility of the natural world, urging us to notice the colours, textures, and rhythms we often rush past.

Lindesay and Sheena’s playful collaboration grew from swapping papers and ideas, creating intuitive collages that speak in a shared visual language.

Susan Holmes invites you into the moments that caught her eye — rainbow lorikeets at dawn, the gleam of cherries, the rugged charm of a prospector’s hut — painted with a mix of joy and quiet contemplation.

Shane Reynolds’ Threads weaves together works made over seven years, each with its own story, now revealing a bigger narrative when seen side-by-side.

Five artists. Four very different journeys. One exhibition that celebrates beauty, curiosity, and the threads that connect us all. Come see it for yourself — you might just spot a little of your own story reflected back at you.

The Artists

GALLERY UNBOUND

Artist-run and proudly based in Melbourne’s vibrant Northcote, Gallery Unbound is where creativity thrives without boundaries. Founded by artist and curator Christina Cerqueira, we go far beyond simply “renting walls” — offering artists genuine support, unique marketing strategies, transparent analytics, low commissions, and prompt payments. We’re inclusive, collaborative, and committed to quality, exhibiting only work that’s both professional and deeply engaging. Whether you’re an artist ready to share your vision or an art lover seeking something fresh, Gallery Unbound is where art is truly free to be.

FROM CHRISTINA CERQUEIRA

“This exhibition is about connection — to nature, to each other, and to those moments that make us stop and look twice. With five artists sharing one space, there’s a story for everyone to connect with.”

FROM MEGAN-JANE JOHNSTONE

“I want people to not just see the landscape, but to feel its rhythms, textures, and vulnerability. My work is an invitation to look closer, especially in a time when nature needs our attention.”

FROM LINDESAY DRESDON AND SHEENA MATHIESON

“Working together has been an act of trust and curiosity — each collage is part of an ongoing conversation between us, where we don’t know the ending until it’s revealed.”

FROM SUSAN HOLMES

“Sometimes beauty is in the smallest moments — the glint of a cherry, lorikeets at dawn. Painting lets me hold on to those moments and share them with others.”

FROM SHANE REYNOLDS

“For me, music and art are intertwined. Threads is like an album — each piece is its own track, but together they tell a bigger story.”

Age Suitability

Suitable for all ages.
