Snap, Stroll & Discover Darebin!
Grab your camera, phone, or favourite photo-taking device and join our guided photography walks through Darebin. Experience a new perspective on familiar streets and landscapes – seen through the eyes of two local photographers with unique practices.
These on-the-move workshops are suitable for ages 15+ (under 18s must be accompanied) and are perfect for beginners, hobbyists, and experienced photographers alike. You must bring your own phone and/or camera for photography.
We will start each session with a draw to win a disposable camera. You’ll also have the chance to have your photographs featured in an online exhibition on the Darebin Arts website, alongside images from the disposable camera.

About the artists
BRETT SCAPIN
Brett Scapin is a photographer based in Darebin. He works in event and portrait photography and has a keen interest in documenting his local community. Brett has spent the past five years photographing volunteers right across Melbourne for an ongoing project.
MARIA COLAIDIS
Maria Colaidis is a photographic artist, living and working in Melbourne, Australia. She is intrigued by people’s complex thoughts and emotions, in particular those unspoken words and the complexities of the human mind. Maria is motivated and inspired to create by nature and am often drawn to light and the way it can transform a scene in an instant. Whether Maria is documenting family or friends, exploring the streets, or turning the camera onto herself, the need to create often comes from a place of curiosity in the scene, connection in the moment and/or a need to record an emotion or thought.
Age suitability
Recommended for ages 15+. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

Darebin Arts and Darebin FUSE Festival acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people as the Traditional Owners, custodians and cultural leaders of this land. We pay respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge the continuing connection to Land, Water and Culture of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
