A wander, a road trip from the Middle East along the Mediterranean, Kazdoura / Ταξίδι (Taxídi) brings together the rich cultures, sounds, and flavours of these interconnected regions through a collaboration between Capers, the Cypriot-Greek bar and restaurant in Thornbury, and Mähallä, a collective dedicated to connecting SWANA communities in Naarm.

For one special event, Capers will be transformed into two distinct spaces, guiding guests on a cultural journey from day into night. Through music, performances, food, chess, and shared traditions, Kazdoura (كزدورة—( meaning “a leisurely wander”—and Ταξίδι—meaning “trip”— celebrate the connections that move between these regions and their diasporas.

The day begins with bring your own chess, inviting guests to settle in for a game hosted by MsChess, alongside a specially curated pop-up menu by Capers. In the garden, Anatolian folk & psychedelic band The Kismet Project will set the tone with a stacked line-up of live music throughout the day, including a performance by Greek hyperpop-electronic duo Baby Ouzo. As day turns to night, the journey continues with DJ sets spanning SWANA and Mediterranean sounds, featuring Aysu, Smoochie, Moi, DJ Matab, Polat, Luqman & Anahita (Club Unity), Disco Mediterranea, and headline set from STEV ZAR.

From chess and shared plates to live performances and late-night dancing, Kazdoura / Ταξίδι (Taxídi) invites guests on a cultural wander—a trip and joyride from the Middle East and across the Mediterranean.
