Hootan Heydari in conversation with Dr Raafat Ishak

Next date: Saturday, 04 October 2025 | 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM

A person observes an art installation

Join artist Hootan Heydari and Dr Raafat Ishak (artist and Senior Lecturer in Art, Victorian College of the Arts) in conversation about Remembering to Forget, Heydari's solo exhibition at Bundoora Homestead.

In Remembering to Forget Heydari draws on the concept of memory reconsolidation—the idea that memories change over time, incorporating new information and blurring the boundaries of truth. Heydari has created a walkway composed of plaster tiles with photo transfers from the artist’s personal archive. Visitors are invited to walk across this fragile surface and consider the changing nature of memory.

Dr Ishak and Heydari will discuss the key themes of memory, transience and identity that recur in Heydari's work.
