Bloomshed's Open Workshop Series

Next date: Friday, 20 February 2026 | 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM

A group of people dressed in historic costumes.

As part of their residency at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre, award-winning theatre company Bloomshed are hosting a series of six open sessions inviting artists into the room to share in how they make work.

These workshops are cost-free and open to all. Participants are welcome to join us for single sessions, or sign up for the full series.

Each session will focus on exploring the Bloomshed approach to adapting texts for theatre, offering insight into our process rather than aiming toward a finished outcome. These sessions are not workshops in the traditional sense, but shared spaces for thinking, testing, and conversation.

Participants will encounter Bloomshed’s collaborative, non-hierarchical way of working, grounded in discussion, curiosity, humour, and a sustained interest in political and social questions. Together, you and the Bloomshed team will read, talk, adapt, and experiment, following lines of enquiry as they emerge.

These sessions are an opportunity to sit alongside the company, ask questions, and get a feel for their artistic language and working rhythms. They are designed for artists curious about process, collaboration, and how ideas move from text to performance.

The Open Workshop Series takea place at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre every Friday 10am – 1pm from 20 February to 27 March 2026.

Capacity is limited. Register through the link below.
