The Australian Ugliness interrogates the ongoing complications around housing in Australia. The exhibition brings together contemporary artworks that address such themes as public housing, the impact of utopian modernisms on our built environment, the power of real estate, the environmental aspects of housing and the dichotomy of private property on stolen land. It addresses local and global issues within the Australian context. This timely exhibition delves into current discourses around housing and asks what the arts can contribute to these conversations.
