The West Wing

Two studios with audience capacity of up to 120 or up to 80, plus performers.

The two West Wing studios are accessed from the Civic Square to the rear of the building.

With their own bar, kitchen, green room, accessible toilet and laundry facilities the two black box studio spaces are favoured for developments and rehearsals, as well as for more intimate performances.

Performances in both the studio spaces are generally delivered from a ‘flat floor’ with a raised seating bank for the audience, however, they are highly flexible and adaptable rooms with alternative layout options if required.

It's quick and easy to book any of the spaces at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre online:

West Wing Studio 1

This is the larger of the two studio. It has two large doors which open into the adjacent Main Hall allowing for its use as ancillary space for events in the larger space, as well as offering a pleasing follow through for markets and ‘promenade’ theatre productions.

The walls in Studio 1 have been fitted with wall-mounted sound management infrastructure and a black drape option at the north end.

The room also includes a fixed audio system, a static lighting grid, and limited lighting stock. The green room, which has the capacity for eight to 10 performers, can be accessed from a separate door located behind the drape with easy access to toilets.
