Meaning and Connection

Jessie Willow Tucker

Working from her home studio in Preston, overlooking her vegetable garden, Tucker’s creative practice is multidisciplinary, incorporating painting, sculpture, and textile design.

Her latest body of work, to be launched at the Homestead this September, focuses on landscapes as sites for exploration of personal experience. Drawing on romantic and kitsch landscape painting traditions, Tucker creates nostalgic fantasy worlds, interrupted by graphic elements and pop culture symbols, referencing the commodification of imagery in contemporary culture.
